Why can MushroomManMycology not ship spores to Florida?

In 2025 Florida House and Senate panel have approved sweeping agriculture legislation that, among other changes, would explicitly outlaw the distribution of
psychedelic mushroom spores and mycelium.
This bill is HB 651.
With respect to psychedelics mushrooms, it would make it illegal “to transport, import, sell, offer for sale, furnish, or give away spores or mycelium capable of producing mushrooms or other material which will contain a controlled substance, including psilocybin or psilocyn, during its lifecycle.”
That means now this bill is fully law, all major active spore providers will no longer be able to sell to Florida. Protect yourself and do not order from vendors who will ship direct to Florida.

I live in Florida, what should I do if I want spores?

1) Contact your govt and let them know you’re unhappy with them stripping away this freedom.
*Especially since the spore legislation is hidden within another unrelated bill- it was not a single issue bill.
*Especially since spores are legal to possess federally due to having no active compounds.
*Especially given that Psilocybe cubensis is found natively in Florida.
*Especially because the people did not get to vote or have a say on the matter.

FREEDOMS. YOUR VOTE MATTERS.

2) You can still order from MushroomManMycology if your billing address is in Florida, but you cannot ship to Florida. You must ship to a legal state- you can consider asking a colleague or family member in a non-FL, GA or ID state to accept your shipment.

I live in Florida and want to purchase non spore products from MushroomManMycology- how do I do that?

I am happy to still be able to offer products from the gourmet, gourmet Ready-to-Fruit block and Supply categories to Florida customers. However, due to how the site is set up to avoid sales of spores to Florida, customers with a Florida address looking to purchase item(s) from the above 3 categories (no active spores) cannot checkout directly on the website.

Non-Floridians, is my freedom to collect and study active spores in danger?

This is a scary moment. FL stripped the federal right Floridians have to study these spores without representing their constituents. Florida is taking a page from GA and ID and is setting the stage for other states to follow. Donate time or resources to any local grassroot groups in your state to make sure this doesn’t happen in your state and to your community.
